The Eagles secured a 1-0 victory last night in a HHC match against Yorktown. This is the first victory over Yorktown in Girls Soccer since 2011.
The game was evenly matched for the first 25 minutes, but Delta broke through late in the first half.
Grace Jarrells delivered a well-placed corner kick, and
Aubree Jarrells capitalized with a header to put Delta on the board.
Defensively, Ruth Sherk had a standout performance in goal with 9 crucial saves, while
Brianna Jones made a critical goal-line clearance to help preserve the shutout.
This win brings Delta's overall record to 11-4 and conference record to 4-3, placing the Eagles 4th in the conference standings.
It's also the first time since 2003 that Delta has achieved a winning record in conference play—another major milestone for the program.
