Delta High School

Coach Van Pelt was named Junior Varsity Head Baseball Coach at Delta High School in fall 2021 and was named 8th Grade Football Offensive Coordinator at Delta Middle School in 2022. He had previously coached at Union City for 1 season of junior high football. Van Pelt has led the Eagles JV baseball team to a 29-13 record over 2 years.

Coach Van Pelt graduated from Delta in 2017. During his time as a student at Delta, he received baseball varsity letters all 4 years and football varsity letters 2 years. During his 4 years, Van Pelt won a total of 2 football sectionals, 1 baseball sectional, 1 baseball regional, and 1 baseball county tournament. While serving as baseball senior team captain, he led the team in multiple batting and pitching statistics, including batting average, hits, RBIs, doubles, homeruns, SLG percentage, and strike outs on the mound. 

Coach Van Pelt continued his education and baseball career at Manchester University, where he graduated with a physical education and health promotion degree in 2021. While playing baseball for the Manchester Spartans, the team had 2 conference tournament appearances in 2018 and 2021, and contributed all 4 years pitching and playing outfield. Van Pelt led the team in doubles and RBIs, and was second in home runs and runs scored his senior season.
