Personal Information:
Family: Wife, Kelli Edwards (also works for Del Com School Corporation). 3 sons, Brady, Braxton, and Bronson. Brady is also a varsity coach on the staff and Braxton has coached at Delta Middle School.
College: 1990 Graduate of Ball State University with a degree in secondary education.
I have worked for Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance as an agent for 31 years and just opened my own office in Muncie in August of this year.
Coaching:
This is my 37th year as a varsity coach at Delta. I have been the defensive coordinator or co coordinator since the 2000 the season. We have won 7 sectionals, 2 regionals, and 1 semi state title. Coached in the 2001 state championship game.
Coached 13 seasons of youth football (3rd grade through 6th grade) and served on the Metro Football Board.
Coached youth baseball for over 10 years and served on the Delta Little League Board.
Fun facts:
Played at Delta for Dave Land in 1983 (junior year) and for Chuck DeNeal (1984) in his first year as a head coach at Delta. Senior season went 9-2 and was named UPI first team all-state, Bloomington-Herald All State and was a District 5 All Star. Played at Ball State University until an injury ended my career.
I am fortunate to have been associated firsthand with 3 members of the Indiana High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame. I was a player for Dave Land and coached with Kevin O’Shea (6 years) and Grant Zgunda (18 years).
Brady, Braxton, and I have all been named 1st team all-conference football players for Delta.
